The KOKEMUX process was developed through intensive university courses in interaction design by leading researchers in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. When applied by professionals who are familiar with the user-centered design methods, the process can be fast.
The main founders of the process are professor Marta Kristín Lárusdóttir at Reykjavik University and Virpi Roto at Aalto University.
Marta Larusdottir is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavik University, Iceland. She has taught Human-Computer Interaction courses in Iceland for over 20 years and participated in teaching similar courses internationally. In her teaching she wants the students to be active in solving problems and understanding the material through using user-centred design methods in practice. She is one of the founders of KOKEMUX process and conducts research on the usage of it in education.
Virpi Roto is a Senior University Lecturer in Experience Design in the Department of Design at Aalto University, Finland. She has 20+ years of experience in user-centered design both in industry and academia.
